Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China released the results of spot-check supervision on three types of water-saving products including toilets. The results show that all 18 batches of unqualified products are smart toilets and bidets, the unqualified rate of this single category reaches 40%, and all of them have unqualified items that endanger personal safety. Well-known brands in the sanitary ceramics sector such as Orans, Guanzhu, and Dongpeng occupy "half of the black list". Industry insiders said that the smart toilet industry has just started, with a serious lack of supervision and standards. Some enterprises turning a deaf ear to production standards or having no knowledge of them has led to the current situation. However, after this national inspection, all parties have collectively rectified their mistakes and improved production processes.

40% of smart toilets are unqualified

Unqualified products have hidden dangers endangering personal safety

It is learned that this inspection is a national supervision carried out on smart toilet products during the spot check of toilet products. A total of 52 types of ordinary toilets, 25 types of integrated smart toilets, and 20 types of independent toilet bidets (electronic toilet seats) were spot-checked this time. Among them, all 18 batches of unqualified products come from smart toilets and bidets.

To highlight the spot check on items related to human health and safety, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine tested safety items including input power and current, heating, leakage current and electric strength under operating temperature, moisture resistance, leakage current and electric strength after the moisture resistance test, grounding measures, heat resistance and flame resistance, and safe water level. As a result, many brands failed in these basic items.

One of the most problematic areas for unqualified items is the flame resistance of the seat ring of smart toilet products. It is reported that heat resistance and flame resistance are mandatory requirements of electrical safety standards. If the heat resistance and flame resistance of non-metallic materials in electrical products do not meet the requirements, when the product fails or is overloaded, accidents such as smoking and fire may occur, directly endangering the personal safety of users. A total of 17 batches of products failed the flame resistance test of seat ring materials, the main reason is that enterprises did not add flame retardants or did not add sufficient flame retardants during the production process. Products of brands including Orans,浪鲸, Bravat, Guanzhu, Apollo, etc., all have this problem.

Another serious unqualified item is the grounding measures of smart toilet products. It is reported that this is also a mandatory requirement of electrical safety standards, and unqualified items may cause electric shock accidents. 3 batches of products have this problem, and 浪鲸's product is among them again. There is also 1 batch of products whose heating performance does not meet the standard requirements. Excessive temperature rise of the hot air used for drying the human body will cause harm to users.
